Getting Started

Creating Your Account and First Sign-In

Welcome to Outrank! Getting started is quick and easy. We use passwordless authentication, which means you don't need to remember another password. You can create your account and sign in using either your Google account or a Magic Link sent to your email.

Your account is created automatically the first time you sign in. There is no separate registration form to fill out.

Signing In with Google OAuth

Google OAuth is the fastest way to get started. It securely connects your Google identity to Outrank without sharing your password.

  1. Navigate to the Sign In page.

  2. Click the Continue with Google button.

  3. Select the Google account you wish to use.

  4. Review the permissions and click Allow or Continue.

Once authenticated, you will be redirected back to Outrank. If it's your first time, you'll head straight to the onboarding flow.

Signing In with a Magic Link

If you prefer not to use Google, you can sign in using a Magic Link. This sends a unique, one-time link to your email address that logs you in instantly.

  1. On the Sign In page, locate the email input field.

  2. Enter your professional email address.

  3. Click Send Magic Link or Continue with Email.

  4. Open your email inbox and look for a message from Outrank.

  5. Click the Sign In button or link inside that email.

Can't find the email? Check your Spam or Junk folder. Magic link emails can sometimes be filtered by strict email providers.

What Happens After Your First Sign-In?

After your first successful sign-in, you'll be guided through our Onboarding Walkthrough. This is where you'll set up your website profile, define your audience, and connect your CMS so Outrank can start generating SEO-optimized content for you.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Magic Link Expired: Magic links are valid for 1 hour. If you see an "Expired" message, simply return to the sign-in page and request a new link.

I didn't receive my Magic Link

  • Wait 2-3 minutes for the email to arrive.

  • Check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folders.

  • Ensure you entered your email address correctly.

Google OAuth isn't working

  • Ensure you are logged into your Google account in your browser.

  • If you are using a privacy-focused browser like Brave, ensure that "Shields" or cookie blocking isn't preventing the redirect from completing.

Once you're signed in, your session will remain active for several days, so you won't need to sign in every time you visit.
