AI-Powered Keyword Discovery
Finding the right keywords is the foundation of any successful SEO strategy. With Outrank's Keyword Researcher, you don't have to spend hours on manual research. Our AI-powered engine automatically discovers high-potential keywords tailored specifically to your business, industry, and target audience.
How AI Keyword Discovery Works
Outrank uses a two-phase process to find the best opportunities for your brand:
AI Seed Generation: Using advanced AI models (GPT-4o), Outrank analyzes your Business Profile—including your product name, description, and target audiences—to identify core themes and topics relevant to your niche.
Data Enrichment: Those themes are then cross-referenced with live SEO databases to fetch hundreds of related keyword ideas, complete with real-time search volume and competition data.
The quality of your keywords depends on your Business Profile. Make sure your product description is detailed and your target audiences are clearly defined in your settings.
Using the Keyword Researcher
Follow these steps to generate your first batch of AI-powered keywords:
Navigate to the Keyword Researcher from your dashboard sidebar.
Select Target Country: Choose the primary region you want to rank in (e.g., United States, United Kingdom, Germany).
Specify a Theme (Optional): If you want to focus on a specific topic, enter a term in the "Specify word" field. If left blank, the AI will use your entire Business Profile for inspiration.
Click Generate Keywords.
The process usually takes 20-30 seconds. Once complete, you'll see a table of keywords ready for your content strategy.
Pro Tip: Use the "Specify word" field to drill down into specific product categories or seasonal trends.
Understanding Your Results
Each keyword comes with key metrics to help you decide which ones to target:
Search Volume: The estimated number of monthly searches on Google. We filter for keywords with at least 100 searches to ensure they drive meaningful traffic.
Keyword Difficulty: A score from 0 to 100 indicating how hard it is to rank on the first page.
0-30 (Green): Easy – Great for new websites.
31-60 (Yellow): Medium – Requires quality content and some backlinks.
61-100 (Orange/Red): Hard – Highly competitive; usually reserved for established sites.
Found a great keyword? These discoveries automatically populate your Content Planner, making it easy to turn a keyword into a full-length, SEO-optimized blog post.
Troubleshooting & Limits
No results found: This can happen if your Business Profile is too vague or if the AI generates terms that are too niche to have recorded search volume. Try adding more detail to your description.
Usage Limits: Keyword generation availability depends on your subscription plan. If you've reached your limit, you may need to upgrade to continue researching.
