Customization & Settings
Configuring Article Preferences
Article preferences allow you to define the default look, feel, and structure of every piece of content you generate. By configuring these settings, you ensure that your articles consistently match your brand's voice and meet your SEO goals without having to manually adjust settings every time you create a new post.
Accessing Article Preferences
To manage your global article settings, follow these steps:
Log in to your dashboard.
Click on Settings in the sidebar navigation.
Select the Articles tab.
Click on Preferences.
Settings configured here apply to all future articles. You can still override these settings for individual articles during the creation process.
Tone and Style
The Tone and Style setting defines the writing personality of your articles. Choosing the right tone helps you connect with your specific audience.
You can choose from 12 distinct styles:
Informative: Neutral and factual, great for guides.
Simple and Clear: Easy to understand, perfect for broad audiences.
Formal: Professional and structured.
Casual: Relaxed and conversational.
Enthusiastic: High energy and positive.
Persuasive: Focused on convincing the reader.
Professional: Business-oriented and authoritative.
Friendly: Warm and approachable.
Entertaining: Engaging and fun to read.
Inspirational: Uplifting and motivating.
Analytical: Data-driven and logical.
Narrative: Story-based and descriptive.
Language Settings
We support over 150 languages to help you reach a global audience. While your primary language is usually set during onboarding, you can change the default language for all future articles in the Preferences tab. This ensures that every article generated uses the correct grammar, syntax, and regional nuances of your chosen language.
Content Toggles (Engagement Features)
The Engagement section allows you to automatically add rich media and interactive elements to your articles. Use these toggles to enhance the reader experience:
YouTube Video: Automatically finds and embeds a relevant YouTube video based on your article's topic.
Call-to-Action (CTA): Adds a dedicated section at the end of your article with your website URL to drive conversions.
Include Infographics: Replaces standard images with data visualizations when your article contains statistics or comparisons.
Include Emojis: Adds relevant emojis throughout the text to make the content more engaging and visually appealing.
If you prefer a more traditional or academic look, we recommend keeping Include Emojis turned off.
Article Structure and Linking
Proper linking is essential for SEO and user navigation. You can control how many links are automatically generated within each article:
Internal Links
Choose between None and 5 links per article. These links point to other pages on your website. For this to work effectively, ensure you have provided your Sitemap URL in your site settings.
External Links
Similar to internal links, you can set the system to include up to 5 links to high-authority external websites. This helps build credibility and provides additional value to your readers.
Image Preferences
You can choose between Stock Photos (Unsplash) or AI Images (DALL-E 3) as your default image source. You can also select a default style, such as Cinematic, Watercolor, or Illustration, and set a Brand Color to ensure AI-generated images match your visual identity.
For a deep dive into image configuration, see our guide on Image Settings: DALL-E vs Unsplash.
Global Instructions
The Global Instructions field is a powerful tool for fine-tuning your content. Any text you enter here is added to the "brain" of the AI for every article it writes. Use this to enforce specific brand rules, such as:
"Always mention our 30-day money-back guarantee."
"Avoid using technical jargon."
"Focus on actionable tips for small business owners."
There is a limit of 1,000 to 2,000 characters, so keep your instructions concise and impactful.
Automation Settings
At the bottom of the Preferences page, you'll find two key automation toggles:
Auto-publish articles: When enabled, articles will automatically post to your connected CMS (like WordPress or Ghost) as soon as they are finished.
Automatic Keyword Generation: Part of the Autopilot feature, this automatically adds new keywords to your calendar when your queue gets low.
Saving and Overriding
Once you've made your changes, click Save. You will see a confirmation message: "Output settings saved successfully."
Need to change settings for just one article?
When creating a new article, click the Settings (gear icon). This opens a drawer where you can change the tone, language, or toggles for that specific post without changing your global preferences.
If you have Auto-publish turned on, make sure your CMS integration is correctly connected, or your articles will remain in a "Completed" state without going live.
