Creating Articles Manually

Generating high-quality, SEO-optimized articles manually gives you full control over your content strategy. By using the manual creation workflow, you can transform a single keyword into a structured, media-rich article in just a few clicks.

This guide focuses on the By Idea mode, which is the most common way to generate articles from scratch using keywords or themes.

Step 1: Access the Article Creation Tool

To start creating a new article, navigate to the Articles section in your dashboard and click on Create New. Alternatively, you can go directly to the creation page at /dashboard/articles/new.

Step 2: Choose "By Idea" Mode

Once on the creation page, ensure you are in the By Idea tab. This mode allows the AI to suggest article titles and structures based on a central theme or keyword you provide.

Step 3: Generate and Select Ideas

The first step in the manual workflow is identifying the right topic. Follow these steps to generate ideas:

  1. Enter your keyword: In the "Generate ideas" input field, type a keyword or a broad theme (e.g., "Remote Work Productivity").

  2. Generate Suggestions: Click the Generate 5 Ideas button. The AI will analyze your keyword and return five unique article title suggestions.

  3. Select Your Ideas: Review the suggestions. You can select the ones you like by checking the box next to the title. If you have a specific title in mind, you can also click Add your idea to enter it manually.

Wait a few moments for the keyword data (search volume and difficulty) to load. This information helps you choose the most impactful topics for SEO.

Step 4: Customize the Article Outline

Before generating the full article, you can review and edit the structure to ensure it meets your requirements.

  1. Generate Outline: Click the Generate Outline icon (represented by a tree structure) next to your selected idea.

  2. Review in Modal: An Outline Creator window will open, showing the proposed H1, H2, and H3 headings.

  3. Edit Headings: You can manually rename, add, or remove headings within this window to fine-tune the flow of the article.

  4. Save Changes: Once satisfied, click Use Outline to save your structure.

Step 5: Configure Output Settings

Before the final generation, customize how the article will look and sound. Click the Settings icon to open the output drawer:

  • Tone of Voice: Choose from options like Informative, Professional, or Casual.

  • Media & Images: Select your image source (Unsplash for stock photos or DALL-E 3 for AI-generated images) and choose a visual style like "Cinematic" or "Illustration."

  • Content Toggles: Decide whether to include YouTube videos, infographics, emojis, or a custom Call-to-Action (CTA).

  • Internal Links: Set the number of internal links (0-5) you want the AI to automatically insert.

  • Negative Constraints: Add any "Words to exclude" to prevent the AI from using specific jargon or overused phrases.

Click Save Output Settings when you are finished.

Step 6: Trigger Article Generation

With your ideas selected, outlines finalized, and settings configured, you are ready to generate.

  1. Review your selected items in the list.

  2. Click the Generate Articles button located in the footer of the page.

Article generation requires credits. If your plan has run out of credits, you will see a notification to upgrade before you can proceed.

Tracking Your Progress

After clicking generate, you will see a "Started Article Generation" notification. The system will redirect you to a status page where you can track the progress of your articles. Most articles take a few minutes to generate, depending on the complexity and the media included.

Once the status changes to Published or Draft, you can find your new content in the Articles list, ready for final review or editing.
